In defense of my previous comment: Some people ACTUALLY believe that Barack Obama is the anti-Christ. While this cover doesn't make my support of Obama any more fervent, it almost certainly makes the crazy conservatives even crazier. (McCain's censure of the cover is a nice sign of conservative moderation.) Anyone who thinks Barack Obama is the anti-Christ or a Muslim truly might not "get" satire. I don't mean to sound elitist when I assume that not everyone will understand the intended point of the cover ...

It's clear to some (but maybe not most) people that the cover was meant to satirize the conservative conception of Barack Obama; however, that many people missed the point seems to suggest the cover was at least unwise and maybe even indecent. While I definitely support free speech, I do wish the media would be smarter when exercising it, even if being smart means realizing the average American political audience might not be.

I, not offended by that magazine cover, because I understand the definition of satire, and know that they've literally illustrated the various rumors going on about the Obama's anyway.

I support this despite knowing that the right-wing press is going to take it at face value. Folks need to stop doing that anyways.
